The SwissPerc was created in 2007 by Nate Dizzle in Seattle. Within a year of putting out tubes he started to see the need for SwissPerc Studios. Dizzle assembled a team of talent including Dosher, Voorhees, JD Maplesden and Matt A. Under the Ballard Bridge this team produced an incredible variety of SwissPerc styles, sizes and collaborations from 2009 until 2012.
As the market shifted towards smaller pieces and the 4 main employees began to explore solo careers, Dizzle opened 7 Point Studios and The Boro School. His focus shifted to curating a space for all levels of glassblowers to learn, teach and build careers of their own. The Pipe Masters Collaboration events he threw yearly were incredible gatherings of the best functional glass artists coming to 7 Point Studios and creating a dizzying array of headies over the course of a week. All of this resulted in much less personal torch time, so only a dozen or less SwissPercs were made from 2013-2019.
By 2020 the calls for more became undeniable and SwissPerc Studios was resurrected. A. West and Chip G. were enjoying a SwissPerc together, gave Dizzle a call and decided to give it a shot. This time across the country in Raleigh, NC with a team of scientific glassblowers making them improved in every way. Currently there's over 25 Authorized Retailers in the US alone with SwissPercs being sold on 4 continents across the globe!
